The Signatures on the Walls of Queen’s House

This is a fascinating case where, in the course of a single week starting on July 31, 1971, 616 historic signatures, most of them dated and which span more than 600 years,  appeared on the bedroom wall of a 11 1/2 year old boy, Matthew Manning, who turned out to be strongly psychic. A few more appeared sporadically later on.

The whole case appeared in the following citation: Harrison, V. The Signatures on the Walls of Queen’s House, Linton, Cambridgeshire and Some of the Automatic Scripts and Drawings of Matthew Manning: An Appraisal. Proceedings of the Society for Psychical Research, 58,  Part 218, 1-104. In some cases, researchers were able to match up the historical signature with the one on the wall. They ruled out fraud.

H.G. Wells’ signature was there, Oliver Cromwell, and other famous people. Some of the signatures were upside down and on the ceiling. The first scan shows some of the signatures on the wall, the 2nd one has Oliver Cromwell’s signature with the date among many others, the 3rd are more signatures, and the 4th scan is one of the authenticated names. All of the people are deceased:signatures1 signatures2 signatures3 signatures4
